Don't let the name fool you -- this is not an internship fair and does not require your company to use interns. This event is the exciting kick-off to a larger program that aims to increase the relationships between Nashville-area businesses, colleges and universities. While the other components of the InternNashville
Program focus on the value of internships, this event is a unique social opportunity to cultivate relationships for all businesses in the
Nashville
area.
This exciting networking and mentoring event creates a fun environment where business professionals, professors, and students can make meaningful connections. Students will learn from businessmen and women in their upcoming field in this fast-paced mentoring and networking setting. Professionals can continue to build those relationships with university faculty who are shaping the workforce of tomorrow.
About the event:
· This is not a job fair. Employers do not have to man a booth, students will not be bringing resumes and interviews will not occur onsite.
· Building Faculty Relationships: Employer representatives will have the opportunity to get to know local faculty and build future connections in a casual mix-and-mingle reception. This can be beneficial for introduction to future employees, learning about new trends in the industry and becoming
involved in the community.
· This is not just networking. It is mentoring in one sitting. Students will be able to talk to employer representatives in their field in a casual reception-style setting and learn about different experiences. They can talk about topics such as what kind of education is required to get to that
level, what steps that person took to get to his/her current career or position, and any advice about being successful in that field. Employers can give back to the community while preparing and better training future employees in their chosen career field.
Schedule:
4 - 4:45 p.m. – Business and Faculty Reception
(Business and faculty only)
4:45 – 6 p.m.– InternNashville Networking Event
(Business, faculty, and students)
Costs: (prices will increase $10 after April 8, 2008)
Every business admission gives you access to two hours of networking, hors d'oeuvres, and two drink tickets redeemable for bottled water or soft drinks.
* Note: Upon registering you will be asked to notate the career field of each attendee. If you purchase a package deal, you can increase your company's exposure by registering attendees representing different career fields. If you register 4 accounting professionals, your name or logo will only appear on the signs for accounting. If you register professionals in accounting, administration, HR, and communications, your name or logo will appear on all four signage
categories.
